Please choose carefully as we do not normally offer refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. If the goods are faulty we will cover the return postage cost and you can then choose between a refund, exchange or store credit.
Many of the items we stock are handmade and will have handmade characteristics. These are not faults and their uniqueness is to be embraced. If you have questions about a particular product or want to see more before purchasing please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All reduced and sale items are final and will not able to be refunded or exchanged.

Any items exchanged must be unused and in its original condition. It must also be in the original packaging.
Return postage costs will be your responsibility, as will the postage costs of shipping your replacement item to you. This cost will vary depending on the item but will be quoted to you prior.
- EXCHANGES are available on all products EXCLUDING sale items. You must contact us within 10 days of the delivery date.
- CREDIT NOTES are available on all products EXCLUDING sale items. You must contact us within 10 days of the delivery date.
- REFUNDS are only available on faulty products. You must contact us within 7 days of the delivery date.
- Unfortunately we cannot offer returns on lighting or bed linen (unless faulty) for hygiene and safety reasons.
I want to return an item, what do I do?
Firstly please send an email to email@example.com. Include your invoice number and product name. Explain the reason for wanting to return the item and let us know if you would prefer an exchange or credit note.
How do I get the product back to you?
Please post your item back to us at Basic Habitat PO Box 212, Seddon VIC 3011. We only exchange goods that are unused and in their original condition and packing. Please take care when re-packaging items and always label packages with relevant labels i.e. "Fragile" or "Do Not Bend".
Please allow 3-5 working days from the send date for us to receive the item back. We will send you an email once it has been received, but feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.
If returning your item via Australia Post, please obtain a free tracking number for your parcel as we do not take responsibility for goods lost by mail.
